Biog: I am blessed to live in one of the most beautiful places in the west of Ireland: between the sea and the mountains of Connemara. This area and it's people offer an endless source of inspiration.
Landscape and portrait painting is the backbone of what I do. I also love black and white work and illustration, and large scale mural painting which I have often undertaken for museums and heritage centres. I find this a fascinating challenge as it often involves working with experts in different fields. In turn, this heritage work feeds back into my personal practice. In 2002 I co-founded The Oilean Project: an on-going artistic exploration of the many abandoned islands around the Irish coast. These places are precious environments full of wildlife, endlessly changing skies and dramatic seas. The remains of ancient settlements throw our human journey on this planet into sharp relief. The logistics and day to day living and working in these extraordinary places renews my connection with the natural environment.
I exhibit regularly in Ireland and abroad and am happy to accept commissions.
